Nicholas’ practice includes all areas of civil defense litigation. He is admitted to practice in the State of Washington, the Western Federal District Court of Washington, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, the Washington State Bar Association, and the King County Bar Association.

Mr. Thomas received a B.S. from the University of Michigan in 2003 and an M.P.A. from Columbia University in 2004. In 2009, Mr. Thomas received his J.D. summa cum laude from the Seattle University School of Law, where he served as a member of the school’s Moot Court Board and represented the school in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Mr. Thomas also served as a legal extern in Governor Christine O. Gregoire’s Office of the General Counsel.

Prior to joining Merrick, Hofstedt & Lindsey, Mr. Thomas represented banks, mortgage companies, local businesses, multi-national corporations, and government agencies in state and federal litigation. He also gained valuable trial experience working as a public defender in Pierce County, Washington. When he is not working, Mr. Thomas enjoys hiking, traveling, and watching University of Michigan football games on Fall Saturdays.
