Gary Eliasen’s practice includes medical malpractice, professional liability, products liability, construction defects, and general tort litigation. He attended Brigham Young University and Colorado State University and received his B.A. in 1961. While in college he was a member of the All American track team in distance running events. He received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 1965 and then served four years in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate. Upon completion of military service in 1970, Mr. Eliasen began practicing law with Merrick, Hofstedt & Lindsey, P.S. Mr. Eliasen’s practice currently emphasizes medical malpractice defense, and he has tried approximately 70 complex medical negligence cases to conclusion.

Mr. Eliasen has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Washington Law & Politics magazine. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Society of Law and Medicine. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Eliasen taught business law in the Seattle Community College system for 12 years. An experienced and accomplished litigator, he thrives on the daily challenge of trial work but he also enjoys taking time off to spend with his family.
